Volunteer Trip July 13-29, 2008
On July 13, eight eager volunteers departed Calgary for Rwanda, and after an inspiring trip, we have safely returned home. While in Rwanda we were teaching English to orphans of the genocide and visiting projects for widows and orphans which INSPIRE!africa and others are supporting.
It is hard to find the right words to describe the trip; it was an incredible life experience, we laughed and we cried, we saw the beauty of the landscape, we made lots of friends and we made a difference in the lives of many genocide survivors as well as in our own.
Over the next while we will be posting stories, pictures and other information about the trip on our website. Please visit www.InspireAfrica.org.
Ntarama Community Centre and Medical Clinic
One of the highlights of our trip was participating in the opening of the Ntarama Community Centre and Medical Clinic and seeing the fruits of all our fundraising efforts. This project could not have been possible without the generous donations of INSPIRE!africa supporters. We thank you very much as do the needy people of Ntarama who are truly grateful.
