INSPIRE!africa Volunteer Trip 2016
Well, we had another amazing volunteer trip to Rwanda this spring. There were 10 of us who made the journey and came back so inspired by the many Rwandans we met. We will be telling you all about it at our November fundraiser, so we won’t give away too much right now. However, if you would like to see the highlights of our trip, please visit our Facebook page for a peek at some wonderful pictures and stories! Perhaps it will get you thinking about joining us in 2018…

An enormous thank-you to all who generously donated in advance of our spring trip to Rwanda and helped make it such a wonderful success. We received over $3,000 in cash donations as well as computers, clothing including baby clothes and accessories, educational materials and school supplies, first-aid learning materials, toiletries, jewelry and sporting equipment.
The goods were distributed to all the projects we support in Rwanda, plus a couple more including the Tuyjembere Women’s Cooperative, Fair Children Youth (school for the deaf) and the young people who hang out at Inema Art Studio. All organizations were extremely grateful and excited to receive such needed and useful items and learning tools.
The cash donations were committed to Solace, to secure regular visits from a vet who will check in on the livestock that we donate to widows, as well as to SURF, to support two students as they pursue vocational training and to Aspire, for the purchase of 50 chef’s shirts so students can attend intern programs.
One stand-out highlight can be attributed to our amazing volunteer Eveline Goodall. Eveline put in enormous efforts to introduce Days for Girls products to many of the groups INSPIRE!africa supports in Rwanda. Through her leadership, women from the Tuyjembere Cooperative were provided with materials and training to start this enterprise that will help ensure girls and women have access to reusable feminine hygiene products and can fully participate in school and employment. Thank-you Eveline!

Want to add something different to your annual fundraising? We have a great opportunity for your school or community group with the lovely and inspiring book “Present’s Presents”. We now have access to larger quantities of the book that could meet the needs of your group. Please contact us at firstname.lastname@example.org if you can see using “Present’s Presents” as part of your fundraiser.
A little look inside Presents' Presents: A true compelling story of young Rae who makes the shift from wanting more and more presents to understanding that happiness does not comes from "wanting" or "having". Rae and her friends learn that giving and feeling connected to others brings them more joy as they use their birthdays to raise money for worthy causes.
